My step mother had went to a natural food supply store & they had recommended a combination of two pills that when taken together caused a natural colonic cleanse….I have since lost the name of these two pills. Would anyone know the name of the pills or a combo that would work the same…Thanks for any help!

Colon cleanses are not for someone who has a healthy bowel, that being said, most of the population doesn’t. Most people are constipated, but will disagree as they have no idea what the word actually means, nor do they understand what the natural elimination process of the bowel actually is.

For someone that simply doesn’t have regular bowel movements OR has some condition such as diverticulitis, which is CAUSED by chronic constipation (as are almost all of the colon issues we hear of today), a simple remedy of something high fibre or containing NATURAL laxative capabilities (cascara, senna, although these are not recommended for long term use, as with ANY laxative, natural or not.) will take care of the cleansing problem. Flax seed (must be ground) is very strengthening to the digestive tract and gives ample fibre to keep things "moving". Flax MUST be taken with adequate fluid as it is a bulk forming laxative and can exacerbate the situation or your fluid intake is too little. Flax is also very mucilaginous, therefore coating an inflamed or irritated colon, which is helpful as well. Along with all these things, healthy diet is of the utmost importance. Sugar, white flour and caffeine are big culprits in the non-functioning bowel area. Eat well and get your fibre, exercise and fluids.

Last year my naturopathic doctor put me on a liver cleanse. But I’m having flank pain on both sides and I’m in the middle of a move so I really haven’t eaten healthy at all lately. If I do a kidney/liver detox, should this benefit me? Do you think I could rid the flank pain? If you thijnk it would work do you have a detox plan for me?
Thanks!

And yes, I’m seeing my doctor on Friday for the flank pain.

This sounds like you have kidney troubles, having been there myself. Your kidneys will cause you to have flank pains and when they are really bad it is difficult to get out of bed or walk or work. You really need to take care of your kidneys in anyway you can. I saw a kineisiologist who offers acupuncture and that helped a great deal, but I also drank dandelion tea, uva ursi/corn silk tea, burdock root tea and anything else for the kidneys. I have seen great improvement and coupled with the elimination of foods from my diet like white potatoes, bananas, tomatoes, cheeses, white sugar/flour. Also I watch the meals I eat and try to further eliminate any food that may cause me pain and pretty much, I am feeling great, and my pain level has diminished drastically. I see you plan to visit your doc, thats good too. All the luck.
